Student Health Insurance Requirements

Meredith College values the health and welfare of its students. To serve the health needs of our student community, Meredith requires health insurance as a condition of enrollment for all full-time undergraduate (12 credit hours or more), licensure only, pre-health post-baccalaureate, international, Sansepolcro students, and dietetic interns to assure that students have access to health care services beyond what is available on campus.

The health insurance decision portal opens Thursday, June 15, 2017 for your student to either waive or enroll in coverage.

My student already has health insurance. What does my student need to do so she does not get billed?
If your student has health insurance and she wishes to opt out of the plan that Meredith College offers, please have her complete the waiver, which opens on June 15. Your student will receive an email confirmation in 1-3 business days. If this form is not completed by Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 5 p.m. EDT your student’s account will automatically be charged and the student will be default enrolled in Meredith’s 2017-2018 BCBS-NC plan.

My student does NOT have health insurance. What does she need to do?
Students who do not have health insurance may purchase a health insurance policy and complete the waiver. Students can find their own policy through the health care exchange at healthcare.gov, work directly with a health insurance company, or enroll in Meredith’s Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina plan using the link below. The waiver form needs to be completed by Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 5 p.m. EDT or your student’s account will automatically be charged and the student will be default enrolled in Meredith’s 2017-2018 BCBS-NC plan.
