Personal interaction with faculty helped international student Mwende Mumo, ’23, identify the right majors that would capitalize on her math and problem-solving strengths. With her majors in mathematics and economics, she is well prepared for her future career in data science.

During her four years at Meredith, Yakira Gonzalez, ’24, has found the best part of herself by learning to use her strengths in any situation.
Tiffany Millner, ʼ24, majored in psychology later in life to become a licensed counselor and help women overcome obstacles they face. The community at Meredith has helped nurture her and she looks forward to helping others as a licensed professional counselor.
During her time at Meredith, Vera Otieno, ’25, grew more confident in her strengths and is assured she can use them to overcome challenges.

Meredith College will hold Commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2024 on Saturday, May 11, in the Courtyard behind Johnson Hall. Ceremonies will be held at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.
The Dietetic Internship (DI) Program is celebrating 30 years at Meredith College.
The Board of Trustees at Meredith College has officially approved the establishment of a new nursing program, marking a pivotal moment in the institution’s history in response to the critical shortage of nurses in N.C. and the nation.
Meredith College’s Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society welcomed its first student members during an April 17, 2024 ceremony. Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. The Meredith chapter was established in Fall 2023.
Dr. Jo Allen has received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the highest honor for service in the State of North Carolina. The Office of the Governor grants the award to individuals with 30 or more years of service to North Carolina.
Three Meredith scholars who were awarded the College’s highest academic honor, the Full-Ride Merit Scholarship, were celebrated on Friday, April 19, 2024, as they prepare to graduate.
Meredith College’s 41st Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition runs through September 12 in Johnson Hall Rotunda Gallery. An opening reception and awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 25 from 5-7 p.m.
