Teaching Scholars

Meredith College offers a dynamic educational experience for its Meredith College Teaching Scholars and North Carolina Teaching Fellows, where participants are enriched with opportunities to gain hands-on classroom experience, learn from education professionals, participate in study abroad, and enroll in honors courses.

Students in the Scholars program participate in a superior undergraduate academic program that blends the liberal arts, a major in the chosen academic field, and professional courses leading to teaching licensure.

Undergraduate Fellows benefit from enrichment opportunities including:

  • Two-year internships in one of the nation’s leading school systems
  • An Honors core of 15-17 semester hours, including an honors thesis
  • Seminars on current topics in education
  • Focus on Excellence cultural and social events
