The Parents Council is comprised of parents of current students and recent graduates of Meredith who exhibit a commitment to the College through gifts of financial leadership, time, and input. Council members have the unique opportunity of attending meetings and events with President Jo Allen, ’80, and executive campus leaders. Our Parents Council members demonstrate their investment in a Meredith education by contributing $1,000/annually to the Parents Fund.

Patrons: Provide financial support and leadership to the Parents Fund’s Parents Project.

  • Contribute $1,000 or more annually to the Parents Fund
  • Lead the Parents Fund by encouraging other parents to make gifts
  • Provide referrals or introductions for the Parents Gift Officer

Ambassadors: Promote enrollment and retention of students by being strong advocates of the College.

  • Attend and/or host events organized by the Admissions and Alumnae Relations offices to recruit incoming students
  • Share your story of positive Meredith experiences with potential parents and students and support those already enrolled, both in your community and at events on campus
  • Support students in their career endeavors by communicating corporate and private job-shadowing, internship and job opportunities to the Office of Career Planning

Advisers: Offer feedback and input to the College about the student and family experience on campus.

  • Attend two meetings per year – fall and spring semesters
  • Contribute ideas regarding the Parents Fund/Parents Project
  • Leave a lasting footprint by joining Parents Council. Become a member by October 1st to participate in the Fall meeting on Saturday, October 19, 2019.

The Parents Fund
The Parents Fund is an important component of Meredith’s annual fundraising efforts. Gifts from parents, grandparents, and Parents Council members support a campus enhancement initiative known as the Parents Project. These projects address a priority identified by our students, allowing us to show them their input is valued. Your investment serves as an important source of funding that is used immediately so your student can enjoy the improved facilities and programs.

Meredith College has a strong history of parent and family philanthropy – all are encouraged to make a gift to the Parents Fund.
