The Broyhill Business Fellows Program at Meredith College prepares students for top internships and job placements through specially designed leadership and professional-development activities that complement any major field of study in the School of Business.

Leaders in Training

Students selected for the program participate in unique leadership seminars which develop and strengthen leadership skills through special projects and opportunities open only to Broyhill Business Fellows. The structure of the program helps you identify your strengths and core values while giving you a solid ethical framework for decision-making. In a supportive environment, you will develop your leadership style and gain confidence in your ability to effectively lead a team.

Exceptional Professional Development

Participants make corporate visits and interact with accomplished business leaders. Leader-shadowing experiences and one-on-one career coaching bookend the program, providing flexibility to allow each student achieve her unique career goals.

Added Benefits

Broyhill Business Fellows are eligible to apply for special scholarships earmarked for our study abroad programs. Students can also apply for funds to support activities which further their individual professional development goals. Combined with dedicated advising and Meredith’s StrongPoints ™ plan, Broyhill Business Fellows transition from classroom to career poised to make an impact in the world of business.

Who Can Apply

Applications to the Broyhill Business Fellows Program are accepted each spring semester for fall entry. The ideal time to apply is the second semester of the freshman year. To be eligible, an applicant must: (1) be a declared major in accounting, business administration (with any specialization) or economics and (2) have completed at least 12 hours of graded coursework at Meredith.

Entering freshmen students interested in the program should indicate an intent to major in the School of Business on the application to Meredith College. In addition, freshmen students should register for Business and Society (BUS 150 – 3 credit hours) in either the fall or spring semester.

Admission to the Broyhill Business Fellows Program is competitive and a limited number of students are selected each spring. The number of students admitted is kept small to ensure extraordinary quality and individualized attention. Academic performance, leadership potential, and faculty recommendations are evaluated during the selection process.
