MEREDITH Full-Ride Merit Scholarship
A four-year, fully funded educational experience for exceptional student leaders at Meredith College
Meredith Full-Ride Merit Scholarships are awarded to first-year students based on academic achievement, leadership, service, and character.
The scholarship, established in 2007 by a dedicated group of alumnae, has attracted highly qualified students who thrived at Meredith and have gone on to successful careers in dentistry, law, communication, scientific research, education, and more.

HOW TO APPLY
Apply for admission to the College via Early Decision or Early Action. The deadline to apply for the Honors Program is January 15.
Note: The application deadline for the 2024 Meredith Full-Ride Merit Scholarship has been extended to January 22.
Honors Program applicants who are selected to interview for the Full-Ride Merit Scholarship will be notified prior to Scholars’ Day. Interviews occur with faculty, administrators, and the President of the College. Scholarship recipients will be notified by mid-March. All Full-Ride Merit Scholarship finalists are guaranteed admission to the Honors Program.
What Makes a Full-Ride Merit Scholar?
Students selected to interview for the scholarship are chosen from the Honors applicant pool. The profile of recent recipients includes a weighted GPA of 4.65, demonstrated leadership and service to others; and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Note: Typical recipients’ profiles also included average SAT/ACT scores of 1510/34; however, Meredith, including the Honors Program, is test optional.
SCHOLARSHIP HISTORY
The Full-Ride Merit Scholarship, originally known as the Alumnae Legacy Scholarship, was created by those who best know the power of a Meredith education – alumnae. Ione Kemp Knight, ’43, and Elizabeth Triplett Beam, ’72, began the campaign to secure Meredith’s academic legacy through the creation of a prestigious scholarship.
Alumnae also assist as mentors, with internships, and by providing quality-of-life enrichment opportunities. They attend recipients’ presentations, performances, lectures, and athletic events.
