Meredith Legacy Scholarship

Classification: First Year, Honors
The Award:

This prestigious scholarship is the highest honor available to freshmen entering Meredith College. The full, four-year, merit-based scholarship is awarded based on superior academic achievement, intellectual promise and leadership ability.

How to apply:

Apply for the Honors Program to be considered for the Meredith Legacy Scholarship. Scholarship recipients will be notified by mid-March.

Honors Program applicants who are selected to interview for the Legacy Scholarship will be notified prior to Scholars’ Day. Legacy Scholarship interviews occur with faculty, administrators, and the President of the College.

Details:

As long as Meredith Legacy Scholars remain full-time students and maintain a minimum quality point ratio of 3.30 on all courses, they receive: Full tuition, on campus room and board and college-wide fees (four academic years) Course-required books, fees and supplies Opportunity for a study abroad experience Annual travel opportunities with the Meredith president Leadership opportunities Participation in the “Focus on Excellence” cultural and social events Induction in the Meredith Honors Program Networking with the Meredith president, outstanding scholars and alumnae Scholarship recipients are expected to participate in the life of the College and to take advantage of all opportunities while developing a lifelong commitment to Meredith College.

Selection Criteria:

Applicants selected to interview for the Meredith College Legacy Scholarship are chosen from the Honors applicant pool. The criteria for awarding the scholarship are rigorous and selective. Selection criteria include superior standardized test scores (SAT/ACT); a minimum unweighted high school GPA of 3.8, based on a 4.0 grading scale; demonstrated leadership in high school, the local community, and beyond; service to others; a demonstrated curiosity about the world; and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
