COURSE MODALITY: Terminology and Definitions For Use During the 2020-2021 Academic Year
Face to Face - This is the traditional classroom setting. On the schedule under Meeting Information it will show the class days, times, building and room.
Hybrid - This is a mix of face to face and online instruction. On the schedule under Meeting Information it will say Hybrid (online and classroom) with the class days, times, building and room, and under Comments it will say 'This is a Hybrid class'.
Online Synchronous - This is an online class that has real-time course meetings. On the schedule under Meeting Information it will say Online Learning with the class days and times, and under Comments it will say 'This is a Synchronous Online class'.
Online Hybrid - This is an online class that has a mix of real-time course meetings and true remote learning. On the schedule under Meeting Information it will say Online Learning with the class days and times, and under Comments it will say 'This is a Hybrid Online class'.
Online Asynchronous - This is a true online class with no real-time meetings. On the schedule under Meeting Information it will say Online Learning with no days or times, and under Comments it will say 'This is an Asynchronous Online class'.
