Interested in a career in veterinary medicine? Students at Meredith may plan an academic program to prepare them for acceptance to top veterinary medicine schools.
There is no prescribed major for the veterinary medicine—any recognized college major is acceptable—but each veterinary school has specific admission requirements for science courses and clinical experience. And with fewer than 35 veterinary schools in the U.S., admission is extremely competitive.
Department of Biology faculty Maria Pickering coordinates Meredith’s pre-vet advising. She works with students to make sure that admissions requirements are met as well as guides them through clinical experiences and the application process.
