With Safety Measures in Place, Meredith Resumes On-Campus Visits

Like many colleges and universities, Meredith College has focused on virtual visits for the past few months in response to COVID-19. Now, given the importance of in-person visits to help students and their families determine whether a school is the right fit, Meredith’s Office of Admissions has developed a modified on-campus visit option, starting Monday, July 6.

Campus Visit Coordinator Christine Borneo said the goal is to provide students and families with the information they need to make an informed choice, whether through an in-person or virtual visit.

“We’re excited to welcome prospective students back on campus for campus visits,” said Borneo. “Students often tell us they knew Meredith was the right choice because it felt like home the minute they drove onto campus, so we understand the importance of visiting during the college search.”

On-campus visits are available Monday through Friday at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The time spent on campus is shorter and mostly outdoors, and visit groups are considerably smaller, with each student receiving an individual tour with an admission counselor.

In addition, students and families must adhere to CDC and North Carolina health and safety guidelines and Meredith’s community standards. Face coverings upon entrance to the College are required, with social distancing in place at all times. All visitors, like all members of the Meredith community, are expected to stay away from campus if they don’t feel well.

Borneo noted that virtual visits continue to be offered daily, Monday through Thursday, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., and Friday at 11 a.m.

“The Office of Admissions will continue to offer virtual opportunities – personalized, one-on-one virtual information sessions, webinars, and current student chats – for prospective students who prefer to learn more about Meredith from the comfort of their home,” said Borneo.
