As the flowers and trees start to bloom across campus, the excitement starts to build for the summer vacation. The waves of spring fever are mixed with a bit of stress for most students though. School is still in session and finals are around the corner before those long, carefree summer days begin. In order to help our students and faculty through exams and final projects, the library offers many services to help end the semester successfully.
We have plenty of resources available to check out from the library and we are continually adding new online resources too from movies to eBooks. Recently two links have been added to our homepage to make searching for print books and eBooks easier. If you go to the Books & Media tab, there is now a link to search our print and eBooks. There is also a tab to search all of our books on reserve if students need to catch up on any of their course reading. If someone needs to research a particular subject area, they can check out the Research Guides the librarians have created for our different areas of study. The guides list out the best resources we have concerning a topic.
They library also offers a pleasant environment to study in either alone or in a group. The main floor and ground floor have tables for open group study areas. The second floor is a silent study floor with a silent study room and private group study rooms are available too. There is also a group study room on the ground floor. If a student, faculty, or staff member would like to reserve a room they can click on the “Room Reservations” link on our homepage, then a link to the Group Study sign in page is available. First time users have to create an account, but it only takes a few seconds, and then you can sign in and reserve a room. All rooms have TVs and DVD players available for use.
If someone wanted to reserve a room at 2 a.m., starting on April 24, they could as the Library’s Exam hours start at 1 p.m. Exam hours mean we will be open 24 hours starting the evening of April 24-29. We will close at 10 p.m. on April 30 and will reopen at 8 a.m. on Sunday, May 1. Then from Sunday through Wednesday we will be open 24 hours again closing on that Thursday May 5 at 6 p.m. The library will have signage noting these hours and we will post updates to our social media outlets concerning the changes in the library’s hours. You can also access our calendar from our homepage to see our full schedule through the remainder of the semester and the summer.
