The Launch of the Onyx Society

The Meredith College onyx is a special symbol of tradition and loyalty that is deeply rooted in the College’s history.  While the distinctive onyx ring may been worn by degree-seeking undergraduate students and our faithful alumnae, the oval onyx embodies the strength of the entire Meredith community.

In honor of the 125th anniversary of Meredith College, The Meredith Fund Office is proud to launch the Onyx Society, a new recognition society for our loyal donors who give each and every year.  Faculty and staff donors are eligible for this society, and you may have already received your letter and decal. To become a member, donors need to make an annual gift to the College for a minimum of three consecutive years.* Our new fiscal year began on July 1.

Please visit our faculty and staff webpage for more information about making your gift this fiscal year.  If you have any questions, please contact Jean Gambrill at or x8392.

Annual gifts are the lifeline of our College. Donors in the Onyx Society set a philanthropic example to others and are committed to the continued growth of Meredith for future generations. Thank you for helping to keep Meredith College Going Strong!

*Membership in the Onyx Society continues until a fiscal year passes without a gift. Former members can rejoin after resuming their support for three consecutive years.
