The Alumnae Association Holds Galentine’s Event for Students

The Alumnae Association held a Happy Galentine’s Day Celebration on Friday, February 12 for all current students. The floating, in-person event in the Cate Center had two sessions from 10 a.m. – noon and 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. to allow for as many students to attend as possible while still maintaining COVID protocols for safety.

Student Making Heart Shape With HandsIn all, over 200 students attended the event where they received a goodie bag as well as enjoyed a hot chocolate bar and sweet treats. It was a great way for friends to celebrate and have a little fun on Galentine’s Day, a day to celebrate female friendships.

“Volunteers on the Alumnae Association Board of Directors have always sought opportunities to support, encourage, and spread some cheer to current students. In the midst of a global pandemic, this seems even more significant,” said Hilary Allen, director of alumnae relations. “Our students are certainly getting an education in strength, perseverance, and resilience due to COVID, and we wanted them to know that there are so many alumnae supporting them from afar. Everyone can use a bit of cheer these days, and it was a nice opportunity for the Alumnae Association to bring some to our favorite Galentines – current students.”
