Meredith College values the health and welfare of its students. To serve the health needs of our student community, Meredith requires health insurance as a condition of enrollment for all full-time undergraduate (12 credit hours or more), licensure only, pre-health post-baccalaureate, I/O psychology, international, Sansepolcro students, and dietetic interns to assure that students have access to health care services beyond what is available on campus. All required students must take action in the Meredith BCBS insurance portal by Wednesday, September 9, 2020.
The health insurance decision portal opened on July 1, 2020, for your student to either waive or enroll in coverage. The portal will close for all students on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at 5 p.m. EST. New students will need to set up their account prior to taking action in the portal. Current students will need to log-in to the portal using their Meredith email address and their previous Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) portal password (different from the student’s Meredith password).
The Meredith College sponsored 2020-21 BCBS policy is $274/month, billed per semester. The Fall 2019 rate is $1,367, which covers five months, August 2020 to December 2020, and the Spring/Summer 2021 rate is $1,914, which covers seven months, January 2021 to July 2021. This rate is automatically applied to your student’s account and will be removed once an approved waiver is submitted through the health insurance portal. Please note that it can take up to 10 business days for the charge to be removed from your student’s account. If your student wishes to enroll in the Meredith sponsored BCBS policy, please take action early so that your student can receive her insurance card in a timely manner.
Please visit the Student Health Center website for detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to navigate the portal. Please note that the portal information must be completed by the student.
