Sophie Lanneau Women’s Leadership Development Program

Want your student to gain leadership skills? Encourage her to participate in the Sophie Lanneau Women’s Leadership Development Program.

This self-directed women’s leadership program helps students explore theories related to leadership and social change. It encourages students to participate in experiences related to individual, group, and community development.

This Leadership Program is intended to promote self-reflection and to help students determine their role within the Meredith community as well as the greater surrounding communities. It is designed to provide students with opportunities to develop, enhance, and practice a personal philosophy of leadership.

The name of the leadership program is inspired by Sophie Lanneau, a member of the “Immortal Ten,” the first class to graduate from what is now Meredith College.
