Sizzlin’ September Street Fest Provides Fun Start to Fall Season
- Published
The Meredith College Activities Board and the Office of Student Leadership and Service hosted the annual Sizzlin’ September Street Fest on Friday, September 20.
The Chapel lot was full of students, faculty, staff, and community members to kick off fall with food trucks, games, live music, and more! We welcomed The Latin Effect, Kono Pizza, and Big Mike’s Barbeque to campus and attendees enjoyed great desserts from Meredith Dining.
Student organizations set up tables for people to explore their groups and join if interested. Many student organizations had games and prizes for the community to enjoy.
Soul Expressions Band provided live music during the event. Grains of Time, a male acapella group from NC State, performed as well. Attendees were seen doing line dances, singing along to the music, and enjoying time with the Meredith community.
Director of Student Leadership and Service Cheryl Jenkins said the student feedback about this year’s Sizzlin’ September event has been positive.
“The students and others attending the event seemed to be satisfied with the band Soul Expressions, the Grains of Time, the food trucks, and the student organization booths,” Jenkins said. “I thought everything went very well, thanks to sophomores Caroline Rash and Adrianna Henry, the student co-chairs from the Meredith Activities Board, who planned the event.”
