Sixth Annual Giving Day to be Held February 23

The sixth annual Make It Count for Meredith Giving Day will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2021. The goal for the 24-hour giving challenge is to raise $600,000.

This year, the Meredith Fund is asking donors to use their gifts to recognize women who are changemakers. Donors can make a gift to honor a strong woman who is making an impact at Meredith or in their community. This could be your opportunity to honor your current Meredith student. Or do you have a Meredith alumna in your family to honor?

Each year on Giving Day, the Meredith community comes together to pay it forward. Gifts may be designated anywhere donors choose, but this year Giving Day will emphasize gifts to support students in need and diversity efforts on campus.

“Our alumnae and friends feel very passionately about Meredith College, and want to see the institution thrive,” says Erin Cleghorn, director of the Meredith Fund. “The last 12 months have been challenging for everyone, and our students are no exception. Support for our students is crucial during these uncertain times.”

Last year, the Giving Day goal was $500,000. By midnight a total of 2,392 donors had contributed $638,960 in one day, exceeding the fundraising goal by more than $135,000.

On February 23, follow Meredith College’s Facebook and Instagram, accounts to see photos, videos, new challenges, and a few surprises. Wear your Meredith apparel and use #MakeItCount4MC to promote the day.
