Scholar Sips Series to Focus on Highway Historical Marker Program

This month, the Scholar Sips Series will shine a spotlight on the North Carolina Highway Historical Marker Program.

Meredith College has a highway marker at our Hillsborough entrance. Have you ever wondered which history gets commemorated in this way, and why? Do you have an idea for a marker and want to know how to submit a good proposal? We are excited to have Ansley Wegner, administrator with the NC Highway Historical Marker Program, join us to talk about the program and some of the recent developments related to our state’s highway markers.

We will gather on Tuesday, October 26 at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom and also with limited in-person seating at Raleigh Brewing Company. You can access the Zoom link here and the passcode is 1891.

Mark your calendars for next month, when we will present a program on women in the craft beer industry on Tuesday, November 30.

Scholar Sips is a collaboration between the Department of History, Political Science, and International Studies, the Office of Alumnae Relations, and Raleigh Brewing Company.
