The Friends of the Carlyle Campbell Library has a long standing tradition of co-sponsoring author events with Quail Ridge Books. These programs have taken place on the Meredith campus, usually in Jones Auditorium or Jones Chapel. Past programs have included John Grisham interviewing Jodi Picoult, Cassandra Clare in conversation with Carrie Ryan as well as Gloria Steinem, Erik Larson and many, many more! In Fall 2019, The Friends organization is thrilled to continue this partnership with Quail Ridge Books, bringing exciting authors to campus:
Ann Patchett is the New York Times bestselling author of Commonwealth and State of Wonder, returns with her most powerful novel to date. The Dutch House is a richly moving story that explores the indelible bond between two siblings, the house of their childhood, and a past that will not let them go.
Shannon Messenger is the New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of the award-winning middle grade series, Keeper of the Lost Cities, as well as the Sky Fall series for young adults. Her latest book, Legacy (Keeper of the Lost Cities #8) will be released on November 5.
The Carlyle Campbell Library receives a limited number of tickets to distribute to members of the Meredith Community including students, faculty, staff, and Friends members. Tickets are distributed on a first come, first served basis. Those interested in attending any of these events should contact Rachel Porter at firstname.lastname@example.org to check for availability.
We are also seeking volunteers to help with each of these events! This is a great way to not only attend the author talks, but to also actively take part. If you are interested in helping with any of these events, please contact Rachel Porter at email@example.com or (919) 760-8531.
