Participate in Online Security Awareness Training

Colleges are just one of the many organizations attacked daily by fraudulent organizations/people who attempt to steal personal and confidential information. Because of this, Meredith College will be implementing a year-long security awareness training program.

The program will not only protect the College, but it will also teach you how to protect yourself and your home/family from having your financial and confidential information stolen.

Who is the training for? All Meredith College employees who have a Meredith email address can participate in the training.

Is the training required? No.

What type of training is this? The training is a “self-paced” course, taught through video instruction and tested with a quiz after each video. There are a total of 23 videos, each video being 2 to 5 minutes in length. You will only have access to the first 10 videos in the fall semester, and then the remaining 13 videos in the spring semester. Some departments who participate will need additional training, and they will receive those videos on a different schedule.

Training is quick – just a one hour time commitment per semester – and self-paced.

When does training begin? Access to the training program begins on September 19, 2016. Part I runs from September 19 to December 15, 2016. Part II runs from January 3 to May 15, 2017. Each part must be completed by the end date.

Where can I find the training? You will be able to find the training on MyMeredith called: “Meredith IT Security,” under My Courses.

How to Register? You will receive an email from Jeff Howlett with a link to register yourself for the course before September 19.

Any staff who needs to schedule one-on-one assistance to complete the training, please contact Jennie Robinson at or ext. 8859.
