On the Road Again with Meredith’s Alumnae Travel Program

As 2015 comes to a close, exciting plans are already falling into place for Meredith’s 2016 Alumnae Travel Program tours.  We have decided to postpone our French river cruise until June of 2017 in order to take advantage of significant discounts offered to (very) early registrants.  Be on the lookout for further information early next spring.

In its place is a 13-day tour of Spain, starting in Madrid and concluding in Barcelona. Highlights include major tourist attractions like Seville and Granada, with their rich Moorish heritage and architecture, as well as little known gems like the beautiful village of Salobrena, perched above the Mediterranean. Galleries, cathedrals, mosques, palaces, museums, and flamenco dancers —as well as spectacular scenery and delicious local cuisine—promise to make this trip a most memorable one. (Tentative dates:  June 7-19, 2016)

In September, we will be back in Italy, this time in the south.  We will start and end in Rome—but in between we will visit stunning Sorrento and nearby Herculaneum and Pompeii as well as sail out for the day to Capri.  We will make our way as far south as baroque Lecce, staying en route in Alberobello, with its conical whitewashed houses, and return by way of Matera, recently named the 2019 European Capital of Culture. There we will stay in a hotel built into the sassi, the caves for which the town is appropriately famous, dating from as far back as 7,000BC. A three-day optional add-on to Sansepolcro, Meredith’s Tuscan home, will conclude this tour. (Tentative dates:  September 25-October 6, 2016. Optional add-on October 6-9.)

We are delighted by the reception our expanded travel program has received among alumnae and friends of Meredith. Thanks for your support! Mark your calendars and plan to join us soon.
