New Textbook Options for Meredith Students

At Meredith, student concerns are very important to us. And, like Meredith students and their families, College leaders have grown concerned over the years about the rising textbook costs.

This year, the College set out to find a way to lower textbook costs and give professors more flexibility in choosing up-to-date readings and instructional materials.

After reviewing vendor options, Akademos was identified as the vendor that will save students significantly on Meredith textbook purchases. Through this new vendor, course material ordering will be done entirely online through the new Meredith College Online Bookstore.

Students will be able to select from a variety of formats, including new, used, eBook, and rentals. Through the Marketplace, students will be able to buy and sell books at discounted prices, saving an average of 60% off the list price.

The online store will also be optimized for mobile, making it easily accessible via Smartphone or tablet.

“We are excited about this opportunity to save you money and look forward to working with Meredith faculty and staff to improve instructional quality, enhance customer service, and better meet the needs of our community,” said Provost Matthew Poslusny.

Students will receive more detailed information in the coming weeks about the new textbook ordering options. In addition, updates will be made in the Meredith Supply Store, where students can buy Meredith apparel and other items, over fall break.
