NCICU Counselor Tour Stops at Meredith

The NC Independent Colleges and Universities (NCICU) Counselors Tour visited Meredith College on June 23, 2025. The tour is an opportunity for counselors from North Carolina high schools to learn more about the state’s private higher education institutions.
President Aimee Sapp welcomed the group to Meredith and began by recognizing the important role counselors play in the college search.
“The work you do matters — not just to your students, but to colleges like ours. You’re often the first person who plants the idea of what’s possible,” Sapp said. “You help students find the right fit, the place where they’ll discover who they are and who they can become. We’re grateful you’re here, and even more grateful for what you do.”
Sapp shared highlights of new options at Meredith, including the nursing program launching this fall and the new flag football program that will begin competition in spring 2027. She also introduced the group to signature programs, including StrongPoints, the Student Success Center, the Meredith Autism Program, study abroad opportunities in Italy and around the world, and Meredith’s numerous leadership opportunities.
“We believe in giving students as many opportunities as possible to lead and get involved,” Sapp said, noting that Meredith has one of the oldest student government associations in the Southeast, and more than 90 student clubs and organizations.
The NCICU tour stop also included lunch with enrollment team members and sessions focused on athletics, StrongPoints, study abroad, and opportunities for the counselors to learn more about admissions and financial assistance at Meredith.
