Meredith’s Student Government Association and the Peer Educators Advocating Responsible Life Styles (PEARLS) are raising money for Africa Yes! ebola relief programs.
Their Change 4 a Dollar campaign asks every Meredith student to give one dollar toward the effort, and challenges students at other North Carolina colleges to do the same. As of February 10, the campus community had donated more than $700.
Give online or at campus donation sites. SGA and PEARLS representatives will be in Cate Center Lobby on Wednesday, Feb. 10 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., and in front of SMB from 10 a.m. – noon on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays through February 23.
Africa Yes! is a Durham-based non-profit that supports community projects in Sierra Leone. The organization’s ebola prevention efforts include providing supplies such as disinfectant, soap, and gloves, and a fund to support education for children orphaned by ebola is being established.
