Meredith Service to Celebrate Women Veterans on November 6

Meredith College will hold the 2024 Honoring Women Veterans event on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 10 a.m. in Jones Chapel. 

The featured speakers for this year’s event will be student veterans Trina Zazarine, ’25, U.S. Air Force, and Karina Reyna, ’25, U.S. Marine Corps. They will provide remarks titled “Active Duty: A Look Behind the Scenes.”

The annual event honors all veterans, with special emphasis on the contributions of women veterans. It is presented by the Meredith College Honoring Women Veterans Committee. 

The Honoring Women Veterans event is free and open to the public. For Meredith students, this event qualifies as an Academic/Cultural Event in General Education.

Other commemorations on campus include opportunities to create holiday cards for veterans.

Veterans Day Service Project
On Thursday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., students can drop by Cate Center Alcove, 1st Floor between classes to craft heartwarming holiday cards for veterans. Supplies will be provided but participants are asked to bring a pair of scissors. Sign-up is required to participate. In addition, a card creation table will be set up in the Cate lobby through Friday, Nov. 15.

Military Displays

  • Military Service displays are on view in the Carlyle Campbell Library through November.
  • Flags of Honor are displayed at the front drive Nov. 4-8, honoring all service members.
