Meredith Recreation Association Plans for Cornhuskin’ – Spring 2021

The Meredith Recreation Association (MRA) will be hosting Cornhuskin’ Week – Spring 2021 during the week of April 5-9, 2021. Just like Cornhuskin’ Spirit Week that was celebrated in fall 2020, the 75th Anniversary remains a part of the celebration. The main show of Cornhuskin’ will be held on Friday, April 9 and will consist of live-streamed virtual elements along with pre-recorded videos of all main class competition categories (Skit, Hog Callin’, Tall Tale, and Songs) and more!

MRA is providing the class co-chairs with all details for how Cornhuskin’ will work this year amid a pandemic.  For now all practices are virtual.  At a later date the goal is to move to outdoor small group practices and filming (no more than 10 people in a group that stays together) in which students are physically distanced, wearing face coverings, and using hand sanitizer regularly.

MRA is committed to fostering an environment that supports student activities while prioritizing the health and safety of Meredith’s students.  Given the fluid nature of COVID-19, event plans may need to be adjusted as conditions change to support the health and safety of the campus community and to adhere to federal, state and local guidelines. When the activities for the week are finalized, the final schedule will be communicated to the Meredith community. There will be opportunities for students to participate in person or virtually.
