Meredith Provides New Options Through the Wings – Adult Education Program

Because Meredith College knows a strong woman can always become stronger, the College has created the Wings – adult education program.

Through Wings – adult education at Meredith, women of all ages will have access to more support as they pursue a bachelor’s degree. There are options for women who want to earn their first degree, complete a degree, earn a second degree in a new field, or take courses to enhance their skills. Adult students will be able to choose from the more than 70 academic programs offered at Meredith

Historically a leader in higher learning for non-traditional-aged women, “Meredith has served this population well through the years, and we’ve recommitted to – and renewed our emphasis on – adult education,” said President Jo Allen.

Allen said the new name symbolizes strength, in keeping with the Meredith College | Going Strong brand.

“Wings represents the strength in rising up that we envision for these women,” Allen said. “Equally important is that wings really cannot be given to a woman. Wings are part of every woman’s make-up … she just may have to be reminded they are there, develop their power, and trust in her ability to soar.”

Meredith is now enrolling students for Spring 2015 classes, which begin in January.

Prospective students can attend an information session on one of the following dates:

November 1, 9 a.m.
January 25, 2015, 3-4:30 p.m.
April 6, 2015,  5:30-7 p.m.
May 20, 2015, 5:30-7 p.m.

Adult student information sessions will allow prospective students to explore options for majors, learn about applicable transfer credit policies, and meet with current students, admissions representatives, and financial assistance staff.
