Meredith Holds Leadership Conference for High School Juniors

February 11 brought more than 75 high school juniors from across Wake County to Meredith College for the Leadership Conference for High School Juniors. Although this was the event’s first year back on campus since February 2020, the leadership conference has been held at Meredith for more than 15 years.

The theme for this year’s conference, “A Place at the Table For Everyone: Rising to the Challenge of Leadership,” helped facilitate discussions on effective leadership skills and learning when to let other voices be heard. One attendee said, “I learned the importance of when it is right to step up and when it is the right time to let someone else’s story be heard.”

Attendees had the chance to hear from leaders across campus on managing conflict using the True Colors assessment and learning how to lead while also exploring how to advocate for themselves and others.

The conference wrapped up with a tour of campus, giving attendees the chance to see what Meredith College has to offer. Several attendees told facilitators they wanted to be Meredith students after participating in the conference.
