The Meredith College community gathered in Belk Dining Hall on November 19 for the annual Friendsgiving celebration, an event hosted by Meredith College Dining Services to bring students, faculty, and staff together before the Thanksgiving holiday.
While Meredith Dining has offered Thanksgiving meals for many years, the Friendsgiving theme was introduced in 2021.
“We host Friendsgiving to bring our college community together and create a warm, welcoming space where everyone can slow down, connect, and share good food,” said Jayme Aimalefoa, director of dining services. “I hope everyone leaves feeling valued, supported, and more connected.”
The celebration featured a festive menu, including an impressive charcuterie display. Guests were also treated to t-shirt giveaways, an opportunity to write notes of thanks, and plenty of space to enjoy fellowship with friends and colleagues.
“My favorite part is seeing people from all corners of campus come together, laugh, and build genuine connections,” said Aimalefoa. “That sense of togetherness is great for our college community and makes the event truly meaningful. We also hope that all of our guests left feeling full and happy with the meal they just had!”
As Friendsgiving continues to grow, the tradition remains rooted in a simple purpose: bringing people together. And once again this year, Belk Dining Hall was filled with gratitude, good food, and the spirit of community that defines Meredith College.
