The Academy sent Owens to Los Angeles to attend the Media Educators Conference in October. “It was a great opportunity to find out what professionals in the field are doing now and where they see things going in the future,” said Owens. “AI is what everyone has their eyes on. It’s being used across all aspects of media, from journalism to filmmaking. I will definitely be incorporating lessons on AI in my courses so students know what it is, what it can do, and how they can use it to enhance their existing skills and talents.”

Owens also received a complimentary one-year Television Academy academic membership as part of the Fellowship.
