Meredith College Wins USA South Women’s President’s Cup

Meredith College captured the 2015 USA South Women’s President’s Cup, the first-ever win by a single gender member. Conference teams earn points based on the regular season finish, and the Avenging Angels jumped out early with three top championships last fall.

Conference Commissioner Rita Wiggs is scheduled to present the award just prior to the October 14 soccer match.

Cross country claimed their second consecutive crown last November, volleyball earned the North division regular season title, and soccer garnered a share of the regular season championship to put Meredith in the lead early. Basketball finished the USA South regular season in third place after putting together the best conference record in program history to maintain momentum.

Lacrosse and tennis capped off the year with top-tier performances to help Meredith win the prestigious award.
