Meredith College to Have Remote Learning on September 30

With the potential for Hurricane Ian to cause inclement weather in the Raleigh area, Meredith College classes will be held remotely Friday, September 30, 2022.

In addition, employees who can work remotely can do so during all shifts on September 30. Employees should consult with their supervisors, who are encouraged to be flexible and recognize that some employees may live in areas that are impacted differently by the weather. Please always use your best judgment about coming to campus if you live in an area that warrants additional caution.

During any inclement weather situation, Meredith departments, including Campus Police, Dining, Residence Life and Facilities have plans in place to ensure campus services remain available. Supervisors of essential personnel should coordinate staffing with their teams.

Belk Dining Hall will be open and any changes to its schedule or that of the BeeHive will be shared on Campus Dining’s web page and on Instagram @meredith_dining.

How Inclement Weather Decisions Are Made
Decisions about closures or delays are made with the safety of all members of the Meredith community in mind. For more information on how inclement weather decisions are made, visit meredith.edu/emergency-planning/college-closings-or-delays.

MC Alert
In addition to email messages like this one, MC Alert is a primary method of communicating any operating schedule changes. Now would be a good time to register for MC Alert text and phone notifications if you have not done so already. Learn more at meredith.edu/emergency-planning/mc-alert

Next update: Any changes to Meredith’s operating schedule for Monday, October 3, including remote instruction, the cancelation of on-campus activities, or a delay in the opening of campus would be announced by 6 a.m. on Monday, 10/3.
