Meredith College Theatre will present the musical Company from November 13-17, 2019, in Studio Theatre.

The performances are November 13-16 at 7:30 p.m. and November 16 and 17 at 2 p.m.

Company is an adult concept musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by George Furth. It was a groundbreaking show when it was originally produced in 1971, winning six Tony Awards including best new musical.

This theatrical piece has been revived twice on Broadway and will be a third time in the spring when the reworked London production opens on Sondheim’s 90th birthday.

The story is centered on a chronically single about-to-turn 35-year-old who is dealing with a group of advice-giving, well-meaning married friends. However, unlike the original, this new production involves a significant reworking of the show's gender dynamics because Bobbie, the protagonist, is now female. This clever musical showcases some of Sondheim's most beautiful tunes, such as "Sorry-Grateful" and "Being Alive.”

Tickets are free, but reservations are encouraged. Reserve your ticket by emailing or calling (919) 760-2840.
