Meredith College Names New School of Business Dean

Meredith College has named Kristie Ogilvie the new dean of its School of Business, effective July 1, 2015. Ogilvie will also serve as the Irving H. Wainwright Professor of Business.

Ogilvie brings administrative and faculty experience, in addition to more than ten years of experience in industry.  She comes to Meredith from Emporia State University, where she served as the dean and Jones Distinguished Professor in the School of Business.

While at Emporia, Ogilvie was instrumental in launching and sustaining student success centers in the School of Business. These centers were a key component of student retention efforts. She also oversaw an increase in growth in the school’s MBA program as well as developing infrastructure and programs for online and hybrid delivery methods.

Prior to that, she served as the associate dean at California State University at San Bernardino.  She started her career as a senior business analyst for GenCorp Corporation/Aerojet. She has also served as a faculty member at California State University at Sacramento and California State University at Fullerton.

Ogilvie holds a Doctorate of Business Administration from Grenoble Ecole de Management and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Tulsa.
