Meredith Campus Resources Remain Available Virtually

As Meredith has moved to a remote learning model for the remainder of the semester, academic programs are not the only aspect of college life that have moved online. Meredith has an array of virtual resources available for prospective students and current students.

Admissions
High school students can still connect with Meredith’s Admissions Office. A special Virtual Experience section of the admissions website allows students to experience Meredith virtually. The site includes options to connect with admissions and financial assistance counselors, to speak with faculty members, and take virtual tours of campus and the residence halls.

Financial Assistance
Prospective students and current students can connect with Financial Assistance staff virtually. Contact the office by email to schedule a Zoom consultation. Visit the Financial Assistance web page for details.

For current students, most Meredith offices have adapted their offerings to a virtual model. Students should check department sites on MyMeredith for full details.

Learning Center
Tutors are available for virtual Learning Center appointments on Zoom. Peer tutors from the Learning Center are also a resource for students who need support managing online learning. Appointments may be scheduled on the Learning Center website.

Library
While the Carlyle Campbell Library building is closed, most library services are available through its virtual branch. Students can access online resources via the library’s home page. Other services include talking to a librarian for research assistance or for finding specific resources.  Chat services are available on Sundays, 1 p.m.-9 p.m., Mondays-Thursdays from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 10 p.m., and Fridays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Consultation appointments are available via Zoom.

Career Planning
The Office of Career Planning (OCP) is providing career counseling and coaching appointments by phone or through virtual appointments. Students and alumnae/i can schedule appointments via Handshake or by contacting OCP at career@meredith.edu. OCP also has virtual panel discussions and online events with employers scheduled. A schedule and additional information is available in Handshake.

Academic Advising
Academic Advising staff are available for appointments via Zoom. Email advising@meredith.edu for more information.

Health Services, Counseling Center, and Disabilities Services
Health Services, Counseling, and Disabilities Services are available through telehealth delivery. Visit their departmental pages on MyMeredith for details. Also, the Counseling/Disabilities Services instagram account is featuring tips and inspiration for working and learning from home.

International Programs
The Office of International Programs (OIP) is providing advising for international students virtually. Traci Stewart Johnson, international student advisor, is available to support F1 students and students from international backgrounds. Email her at tsjohnson@meredith.edu for more information. While Meredith has canceled study abroad programs planned for Summer 2020, Liz Yaros, study abroad advisor, is available for virtual appointments with students who had planned to study abroad, to discuss their plans, goals, and concerns. Virtual appointments can be scheduled at meredith.edu/studyabroad.

StrongPoints
The StrongPoints Office is open and offering virtual appointments for students. StrongPoints services for students include individualized strengths coaching, connections to resources for the four StrongPoints pillars, and guidance on strengths-based decision making and leadership. Schedule through strongpoints.youcanbook.me.

Textbooks Online
In addition to resources available through the library,  Meredith’s Online Bookstore has partnered with its digital course materials platform, VitalSource, and leading publishers to launch a program offering free access to ebooks for students who may have lost access to course materials with the rapid move to distance learning. Visit bookshelf.vitalsource.com to access free ebooks through May 25. VitalSource provides access to tens of thousands of ebooks, but some content may not be available.

Campus Store
In addition to the services listed above, Meredith’s Campus Store is now operating on a virtual model. Visit meredith.edu/online-stores for online shopping options.
