- Published
The fall sports season opened strong as the Meredith College volleyball squad recorded eight consecutive wins. Freshman Caroline Corey earned back-to-back USA South Rookie of the Week honors during the first two weeks of the season. After a seven match road series, the Angels finally hosted Elizabeth City State at home last Wednesday evening. Senior libero Keegan Lynch set a new all-time NCAA Division III record (25-point scoring era) serving 24 consecutive points in set two of the 3-0 victory.
The soccer team tallied a pair of USA South shutouts this weekend to open the conference season, including a 2-0 win over William Peace and a 1-0 victory at Greensboro College. Jessica Wallace picked up her first league Player of the Week honor last Monday after scoring four goals on the week.
Caroline Diorio, cross country’s first Rookie Runner of the Week this season, will contribute a blog series throughout her freshman season as an Avenging Angel. Follow her story and the Meredith cross country season as the Angels battle for their fourth consecutive USA South Championship.
