Limited Spaces Still Available for MAP Explorers Preschool

The Meredith Autism Program (MAP), with the support of the Department of Psychology, is excited to announce enrollment for the 2017-18 school year for the Explorers Inclusive Preschool Classroom. Taught by B-K licensed teacher Melissa Snell, our classroom offers a small teaching setting where typical children can develop pre-academic skills needed for Kindergarten, while also learning how to be an understanding support system for other children.

MAP has five slots for typically developing children between the ages of three and four years old. These children must be fully potty trained and eager to learn and help others. Children enrolled in the Explorers classroom will serve as peer models for the children enrolled at MAP for social and play skills, as well as communication and language skills. Families will enroll in the preschool classroom for the entire academic calendar (Tuesday, September 5, 2017 – Friday, May 11, 2018) for five mornings per week. The classroom hours are 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

There are a few slots remaining to be filled, and applications will continue be accepted until maximum enrollment has been met.  Tours are available during preschool hours and should be scheduled with MAP Program Director Kathryn Dove (x8707, colek@meredith.edu).

More information and the application for enrollment can be found on the MAP website.
