Library’s New Campbell Corner Provides Essential Supplies for Students

On February 13, Meredith’s library officially opened its newest resource, the Campbell Corner. This is a space dedicated to providing students with needed items such as dental and hair care, feminine products, and household cleaning materials.

Carrie Nichols, co-dean of the Carlyle Campbell Library, said the space expands the library’s support for students.

“Libraries have always been about more than books. They are spaces where students find guidance, tools, opportunity, and community,” said Nichols. “Today, we build on that mission by helping meet essential everyday needs that allow our students to fully engage in their academic journey.”Erin Campbell

The new space builds on the work of Erin Campbell, head of circulation, from whom Campbell Corner gets its name. Campbell recognized the need for this type of support through her interactions with students.

“Erin had many of these items in her office, quietly ensuring that students had access to essential items when they needed them most,” Nichols said. “That dedication, compassion, and willingness to step forward when students needed support helped lay the foundation for what we’re celebrating today.”

Inventory will be sustained through material and monetary donations. The Class of Class of 2026 Senior Class Gift Officers2026 has chosen to support the Campbell Corner as their Senior Class Gift. Riley Heeb and Katie Savell are serving as the 2026 Senior Class Gift Co-Chairs.

Heeb explained that each class votes on their Senior Class Gift project. She hopes their monetary gifts help the Campbell Corner have a successful launch and long-term support.

“I want to make sure that it sustains for many, many years to come, and that many students are able to utilize it,” Heeb said.

The Campbell Corner is located on the library’s first floor in room 111, inside the Creation Station.
