Library and Learning Center News for Spring 2021

The Library would like to welcome everyone back for the spring 2021 semester! We have made some changes for this semester that include new hours, study room reservations, and some new resources to support you and your students’ studies.

New Hours
The Library will be closing at midnight now from Sunday through Thursday. The library will also begin closing at 5 p.m. on Saturdays based on fall usage data. You can see full information about library hours for the building and our departments here.

Study Room Reservations
We have added air filters to each study room and are restoring the room reservation system that we were using prior to March 2020. Three study rooms will accommodate two individuals. Three others can accommodate only one. You can get to the room reservation pages from the library website.

New Resources
At the beginning of January, we launched two new resources—Transparent Language and Learning Express. Transparent Language is a fun, effective, and engaging way to improve foreign language skills. It is replacing Mango Languages. Learning Express provides a variety of tutorials and practice tests to help students prepare for standardized tests. Our Films on Demand collection also grew with addition of a collection of educational videos for children.

We are also adding Berg Fashion Library to our resource collection in January. Berg Fashion Library contains more than 13,000 color images, over 100 academic eBooks, an invaluable museum directory, a unique exhibition archive, and reference works. Teaching resources are available as well to enrich studies across many disciplines.

Visit the library’s website to explore these and the many other online resources available to you.

Learning Center
The Learning Center opened for appointments on Wednesday, January 20 at 8 a.m.
