If You Give a Phonathon Caller a Conversation

Just as you are settling in at home after a long day of work, Meredith College’s Phonathon Student Callers are just beginning. After a full day of classes and meetings, 17 Meredith students come to the Mae Grimmer Alumnae House and start to call you (and other Meredith Alumnae!). While that phone call may come during dinner, while you are putting your children to sleep, or while you are getting in bed yourself, what happens if you pick up? What happens if you give a Phonathon Caller a conversation?

If you give a Phonathon Caller a conversation, she’s going to ask to update your contact information. When she updates your contact information, she is going to ask you about your Meredith experience. When you tell her about your Meredith experience, she will excitedly respond with how similar, how fun, how wonderful her experience has been.

If you give a Phonathon Caller a conversation, she’s going to learn how to speak more clearly. When she learns to speak more clearly, she is going to gain communication skills. When she gains communication skills, she is going to be more confident in her abilities to connect with others.

If you give a Phonathon Caller a conversation, she is going to learn about the strong women who have come before her. When she learns about the strong women who have come before her, she will gain an appreciation for Meredith College. When she gains an appreciation for Meredith College, she is going to realize how this institution has made her even stronger.

If you give a Phonathon Caller a conversation, she is going to learn how she can make a difference as a Meredith student and, eventually, as a Meredith alumna.
