Financial Assistance Tips for Spring 2016

The priority deadline to apply for financial aid (scholarships, grants, loans, work study) was March 15, 2016.  If you have not filed your 2016-2017 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), please apply as soon as possible. If you missed the priority deadline, Meredith College will still accept your FAFSA. It is in your best interest to apply now. Most aid programs are still available but a small number of programs may limit eligibility after the priority deadline.

Filing your FAFSA

To file your FAFSA, please visit fafsa.ed.gov. It is important to note that you do not need to pay for the FAFSA.  If you are being asked to pay, you are not on the proper site. Please submit your information through this site only at fafsa.ed.gov.

After you File

After you file, you will receive a confirmation email from the FAFSA processor (Department of Education). This will allow you to know that your information will be transmitted to Meredith in 3-4 days from the FAFSA processor (Department of Education). Once Meredith receives the information, we will let you know through email if we need any additional documents. Please reply promptly if you are required to submit additional documents.

Awarding of Financial Aid and Confirmation Letters

Current students are awarded financial aid after Spring semester grades are received in May. Financial aid award letters listing all financial aid your daughter is receiving for 2016-2017 will begin being mailed in June to the address on your daughter’s school record.

More information is available through the Meredith College Financial Assistance Office, Johnson Hall, via phone (919) 760-8565, via email, finaid@meredith.edu, or by visiting meredith.edu/financial-assistance.  We stand ready to assist you through this process.
