Fair Showcases Study Abroad Options

The Office of International Programs (OIP) held its annual Study Abroad Fair on September 24, showcasing international opportunities for 2025.

OIP staff, faculty who are leading Meredith Abroad programs, representatives from affiliate programs, and students who serve as study abroad peer ambassadors were all on hand to share information and answer questions.

Meredith Abroad options include a variety of faculty-led programs based in Meredith’s location in Sansepolcro, Italy. One option is a spring semester course called Intersections: Math, Art, and Italy that includes travel to Italy over spring break. The deadline to apply for this program is October 15.

First-year students may be especially interested in the Fall 2025 Semester in Italy program, where participants can completely fulfill their foreign language requirement and earn a full semester of general education credits applicable to all majors.

Meredith Abroad is celebrating 50 years of faculty-led study abroad programs this year. The first official study abroad program at Meredith was a program in the United Kingdom in the summer of 1974. Students in 2025 have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of that first program with a summer opportunity in London. Students can also combine the June Italy program with the July London program, called the “Whole Program,” for a unique opportunity to earn 12 credits in seven weeks.

Visit the OIP site for a full list of programs.

Students interested in studying abroad are encouraged to set up an online application account and to attend Study Abroad 101. These sessions are held on Fridays at 10 a.m.

Meredith College also offers generous need-based and merit-based scholarships to support study abroad and guidance through funding workshops to help students pay for these opportunities.
