Faculty/Staff Accomplishments and Departmental News 4/29/20

In this issue we share accomplishments of faculty in religious and ethical studies and theatre as well as information on an #MCStayingStrong project and the Meredith International Association Virtual Fashion Show.
Professor of Religious and Ethical Studies Shannon Grimes will deliver the 2020-21 Faculty Distinguished Lecture. Provost Matthew Poslusny announced this honor for Grimes earlier this month.
Professor of Theatre Catherine Rodgers and Professor of Theatre Steven Roten attended a Zoom meeting with theatre educators from all over the United States on April 24. Sponsored by the New York Theatre Workshop, the discussion “Teaching Theatre Online” featured four panelists from K-12 to graduate school programs. The session provided participants with a list of resources and materials that will allow programs to continue to move forward using distance learning.
#MCStayingStrong
The Marketing Department would like to feature faculty in our #MCStayingStrong series on social media. To participate, please share a photo and a brief statement about how you rose to the challenge of moving your courses online. This series has been used to strengthen Meredith community during distance learning, and we would like to celebrate faculty. Email Melyssa Allen at allenme@meredith.edu or use this form to share your contribution.
Meredith International Association Fashion Show
Every spring, the Meredith International Association presents a fashion and cultural show to the Meredith community. MIA worked with the Marketing Department to present a virtual international fashion show for everyone to enjoy. The show, built on the theme of “community” debuted on April 27. Watch the virtual fashion show on Meredith’s Facebook page.
