In this issue, we celebrate the accomplishments of faculty and staff in business, college programs, economics, and psychology.
Assistant Dean of Students Daphne Davis’s proposal has been accepted for the NASPA 2025 Student Success in Higher Education Conference to be held in Denver, Colo., in June 2025. Her program title is “Telling Your Story: Empowering First-Gen Students Through Narrative.”
Associate Professor of Management Lisa Delise has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Management and Organizational Behavior Teaching Society (MOBTS). Dr. Delise was elected because of her dedication to the Society and its commitment to enhancing the quality of teaching and learning across the management disciplines, as well as her insights, leadership, and passion. Her term begins in 2025 and will conclude in 2028.
Associate Professor of Psychology Candalyn Rade and Professor of Psychology Andrea McPherson attended the 17th Annual Conference on Higher Education Pedagogy at Virginia Tech in February. Conference sessions addressed disciplinary and interdisciplinary instructional strategies, outcomes, and research. Drs. Rade and McPherson are looking forward to implementing several learned strategies into their everyday teaching.
Professor of Economics Anne York was interviewed by The News & Observer for a story about why the gender pay gap in Raleigh is one of the highest among large cities in the U.S. The story ran in The News & Observer and The Charlotte Observer on February 28.
