Colleagues Share Their Giving Stories

You still have time to join your colleagues in giving to the Faculty and Staff Campaign before our 7-week initiative ends on November 4.  We greatly appreciate the support of those who have already participated this fall, and if you are considering a gift to Meredith College, simply visit the faculty and staff giving page.

Gifts of all sizes strengthen Meredith now and in the future. Additionally, our campus giving participation rate is used in grant applications to help compete with other colleges and universities for funding from foundations and corporations. Last year, 72.5% of Meredith faculty and staff supported annual giving. Your gift can be deducted from your paycheck or you can make a one-time gift and don’t forget to designate your gift to your department, the College’s most pressing needs, or another fund on campus.

Questions about giving? Contact Jean Gambrill, associate director of The Meredith Fund, by email at gambrillj@meredith.edu or phone at (919) 760-8392.

Over the last month faculty and staff have been highlighted through Meredith College social media on why they give to The Meredith Fund. In case you missed it, here are some of their stories:

Andrea Marritt
Associate Professor of Biological Science and Director of Pre-Health Post-Baccalaureate Program
Andrea gives to maintain our strong academic environment.
“I donate to The Meredith Fund because I want the college to continue to be successful in its mission of maintaining a strong academic environment and producing the next generation of high achieving women.”

Alex Davis
Director of Academic Advising

Alex gives to say thank you to students. “I give as a means of paying it forward. We are here because of the students and have this amazing opportunity to mentor, guide, and support them for a few short years. Giving is a way of saying thank you to former and current students and supporting those yet to come.”

Robbie Hulon
Facilities Services

Robbie gives to maintain strong athletic teams. “As a father of five girls who have played sports, I see the positive impact it has had on their lives. I feel like it is important to give back to Meredith athletics to keep the dream alive for women athletes.”

Al White
Chief of Police

Al contributes to help the campus community go strong. “I give to Meredith because I want to be a part of the foundation that continues the development of strong women. I also know my gift will improve the quality of life for our students, staff, and faculty.”

Your gift supports Beyond Strong │The Campaign for Meredith, a $75 million campaign announced in February 2016 as part of the College’s 125 celebration.
