Beyond Strong Campaign Celebration Planned for Founders’ Day

Meredith College’s 2019 Founders’ Day commemoration will celebrate the end of the Beyond Strong | The Campaign for Meredith. President Jo Allen plans to announce the campaign’s grand total  during the February 27 Founders’ Day celebration.

Faculty and staff are invited to join students, trustees, alumnae, and the Campaign Steering Committee at the celebration, which will begin at 10 a.m. in Johnson Hall Rotunda.

The Campaign began in 2012. During the public launch on February 26, 2016, Meredith College announced the $75 million goal. At that point, the College had already raised $52 million surpassing the last campaign grand total by $11 million.

Beyond Strong has created incredible opportunities for students and the entire campus community. In our largest fundraising effort in the history of Meredith College, gifts have supported scholarships, new academic programs, facilities, study abroad opportunities, StrongPoints®, Wings, the endowment, enhanced faculty and staff development, wellness programs, the Going Strong brand launch, new campus signage, and so much more.

Faculty/Staff giving increased from 26.7% to 73.2% participation during the campaign. And in 2017-18 the 73.2% participation was the highest in the history of the College. The generosity of faculty and staff shows that people believe in the mission of the College and all gifts have certainly made an impact on the Campaign.
