Become an Involved Parent at Meredith

As a Meredith parent, your strong commitment to the Meredith experience helps to inspire learning, leadership, service and personal growth of your daughter and her classmates. We are proud of the involvement of Meredith parents in our College community and have established a strong tradition of support through parent giving.

Each year, gifts from parents are directed to The Parents’ Fund, a special portion of our College annual fund. These gifts make a direct impact on campus by helping to fund campus enhancement projects. Past parents projects have included additional security lights in student parking lots, support for renovations to the second floor of Cate Student Center and to the new Lowery Fitness Center.

In 2017-18, as a result of Campus Police Chief Al White’s call to action, The Parents Council designated last year’s parent contributions to enhancing security elements on campus. Through generous support of many Meredith parents, three meaningful needs are being fulfilled:

  • Implementation of a system that will capture license plates of vehicles entering campus
  • Installation of an electric stop arm at the guard house for night-time hours
  • Renovation of the guard house to allow for increased guard presence at the front gate.

Work will begin soon on this project.  The newly enhanced security initiative will help allow us to maintain our reputation as one of the safest campuses in North Carolina!

The Parents Council will hear a proposal for the 2018-19 Parents Project at their October meeting. Stay tuned for a project update!  In the meantime, please consider making a gift to The Parents’ Fund to support a new and exciting program for Meredith.  Make an online gift.  Your gift of support will lay the groundwork for this year’s project and sends a strong message of involvement, appreciation and confidence in your daughter’s education at Meredith.
