Alumnae Association Plans Spring Events for Students

On February 14, 2022, the Alumnae Association will host a Valentine’s Day-themed Pop-Up event for all current Meredith students.

During this event, students will receive goodie bags with candy, a bracelet, and Valentine’s socks. Hot chocolate and coffee refreshments will be offered in a to-go capacity. Students are encouraged to stop by between 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. or from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at The Cate Mall (directly outside in front of the student center).

The goal of the pop-up event is to connect students to the Alumnae Association by providing them with treats. Past events similar to this one have garnered an attendance of over 350 students! The Alumnae Association Board sponsors pop-up events in an effort to connect with current students. Chair of Student Relations Jennifer Christenberry, ’92, leads this event with support from other Alumnae Association board members, including Board President Courtney Allen, ’10. Seeing the students enjoy this event in a safe capacity is rewarding for all attendees!

During the spring semester, students who are members of 1891 Club will have the opportunity to attend several events on campus. In March, members will receive the spring giveaway t-shirt that is included with their membership. 1891 Club also hosts a last day of class celebration each semester. On December 1, 2021, the last day of the fall semester, we saw over 200 students! They received a coffee mug with the Meredith College Lux on the outside. They were able to enjoy an exam treat – coffee or hot chocolate – in their new mug. This spring, the last day of class celebration will be held on April 29, 2022. The event will feature a fun celebration and giveaway for students who attend.Students at Last Day of Class Event Fall 2021

Meredith’s 1891 Club, the student alumnae association, provides members with excellent networking opportunities between the students and alumnae. Members of the club also learn ways to stay connected with the college, creating engaged alumnae once they graduate. Club membership is open to all students regardless of class year. All members receive exclusive giveaways and networking opportunities each semester. Learn more about 1891 Club at meredith.edu/alumnae/1891-club.

During the fall semester, The Alumnae Office partnered with other offices on campus, including the Office of Residence Life and the First Year Experience program, to encourage students to join Meredith Mentors. Meredith Mentors is an online platform that connects members of the Meredith College community for mentoring and networking. This platform allows members of the community, including current students and alumnae/i to connect with other students, graduates, faculty, and staff on various topics.

We encourage all students to join this platform to assist with their networking and connections for opportunities in their career field or areas of interest. Learn more about Meredith Mentors at meredith.edu/alumnae/mentorship-networking.
