Meredith Mathematics & Science Institutes (MMSI) offers quality, residential professional development opportunities that focus on important mathematics and science content for Kindergarten through High School classroom teachers, coaches and lead teachers, principals, mathematics/science coordinators and supervisors. Classes focus on content identified in North Carolina’s Standards for mathematics and science.
Our Leadership Institute provides coaches and lead teachers, principals, mathematics/science coordinators and supervisors opportunities to learn from a number of esteemed mathematics educators from across the country through 3 days of professional development. Sessions include a variety of topics addressing planning for change, implementing change, and sustaining change.

Additional Information about Leadership Institute
Our sessions vary from year-to-year but are aimed towards addressing issues facing North Carolina mathematics educators. In previous years we have included sessions discussing policy changes, research-based professional development, and working with teachers and parents to encourage student growth, just to name a few!
The Institute sessions are not only opportunities for educators to expand their horizons, but also to network with various colleagues from across the state and interact with the wonderful presenters who join us each year. Based on feedback, the Leadership Institute will increase the number of sessions for administrators who wish to focus on mathematics teaching and learning.
Additional Information About MMSI Workshops
MMSI sessions are grade-level or course specific unless otherwise noted. Class size is limited, so consider organizing a school team to take advantage of the grade-level specific opportunities. The schedule is set so that individuals may attend multiple sessions.
Classes typically begin at 8:30 a.m. and end around 4:00 p.m. each day. All materials are included in the registration fee and lunches are provided for participants. Two breakfasts and a dinner are included in fee for residence hall occupants.
