The Spring 2017 Meredith Poll explored North Carolinians’ views about fake news, their media usage, and political divisions.

The Meredith Poll surveyed registered voters in North Carolina, asking questions including the following:

  • How often do they encounter fake news? How confident are they that they can recognize fake news?
  • Where do they get their political news?
  • How do they view the direction of the country?
  • What are their perceptions of conservatives and liberals?

With this poll, Meredith College used both an email survey and a live-caller, dual frame (landline and cell phone) survey of 876 registered voters of North Carolina between February 19-28, 2017. The survey has a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points for registered voters.
